Jonny grew up in Northern Ireland in a small town called Antrim.  He has a degree in Sport Psychology & Health from Leeds Met University, in which he gained FIRST honours.  Prior to finishing his degree back in England he’d spent some time playing and studying in Indiana.  Before moving to the US in 2014, Jonny had played for various clubs at a semi-professional level.  Initially coming back to the US on a GAP year to coach in CA, he turned coaching into his full time job when he moved to New Jersey to work with Princeton Soccer Academy where he stayed for 6 years, before ultimately moving to WA in June 2021 and working with Northwest United.

Jonny has his B license from US Soccer as well as holding his UEFA B license.  He looks to pursue his US Soccer A license in 2023 as well as the instructor license and US Talent Scout license.  Jonny has been to many USYS and US Clun national championship finals, and looks to continue that here at Northwest United.  Jonny is currently the Boys Director of Coaching, as well as the head coach for 4 teams.

Jonny lives with his wife Elizabeth, and their son Noah.  When not spending time with them, he enjoys playing golf, mountain & road biking, motocross, and continuous learning within the soccer world as well as other sports.  Jonny supports Rangers FC, and would keep an eye on Manchester United when watching the premier league.
