Referees
The referees that officiate our games are part of the Skagit Valley Soccer Referees Association (SVSRA), an affiliate of the State Referee Committee – Washington State (SRC). The SRC is affiliated with the US Soccer Federation (USSF). The SRC is a separate entity from WSYSA but with close ties. Referees are assigned to our games by a referee assignor. Our current assignor is (To be updated).
PAYMENT OF REFEREES AT STORM HOME GAMES

- U-13 to U-14 $35 for the Center and $17.50 for each AR.
- U-15 to U-16 $40 for the Center and $20 for each AR.
- U-17 and up $45 for the Center and $22.50 for each AR.
COACHES CONDUCT TOWARD REFEREES
Referees provide a valuable service to our teams and deserve our utmost respect and support. The assignor tries to match the experience level of the referee with the age and skills of the teams that are playing. The older more experienced teams get the more experienced referees. There are not enough experienced referees to cover all games. Occasionally a referee that has limited experience may be assigned to a game. It is our job as coaches to encourage new referees to learn and improve in the same way we would encourage a player. Everyone makes mistakes, we must not come “unglued” and “rant and rave” if a referee makes a “bad” call. Abusive behavior toward any referee will not be tolerated! If you feel a referee is not qualified or needs further training it should be dealt with in writing to the SVSRA.
